New CEO in Steinsvik Group

Martha Kold Bakkevig replaces Bjørn M. Apeland as CEO of Steinsvik Group with accession 02.01.2018. Bakkevig has 20 years of experience within management and business development

This fall, the Board of Steinsvik Group AS has worked towards finding a replacement for Apeland, and sees Martha Kold Bakkevig as the best candidate to replace Apeland as CEO of Steinsvik Group. She also has the advantage of being local to Haugesund.

«After almost 14 years as an entrepreneur and senior leader in a company that has become a leading company in technology and equipment deliveries to the rapidly expanding aquaculture industry, I now leave it to Martha Kold Bakkevig», says Bjørn M. Apeland – resigning CEO of Steinsvik Group AS. Apeland will continue as Deputy CEO for a period.

 

«Kverva Technology AS and Duen AS, my own company, has formed a new company, KD Invest AS, which will invest and push forward new concepts in the same industry but in other segments than Steinsvik Group. Here, I will work actively with various projects on behalf of KD Invest, both in Norway and abroad», says Apeland.

Steinsvik is a leading and innovative technology and service provider to the aquaculture industry, with primary focus on feeding technology and monitoring/remote control. Steinsvik has also activities in ship bridge solutions and equipment deliveries to the oil and gas industry. Steinsvik is headquartered in Norway and have several departments along the Norwegian coast. In addition they have subsidiaries in Scotland, Chile, Vietnam, Canada, Oceania and Estonia. They are also represented via partners in Turkey, on Iceland, and on the Faroe Islands.

 

Steinsvik owns 59.7% of the shares in AquaOptima AS, a supplier of RAS (recirculation aquaculture systems). Since 1993, the company has designed and supplied hatcheries and grow-out land-based farms world-wide for a variety of cold and warm water species.
