In 1940 the company moved to Samnanger district, approx. 50 km from Bergen, where the company has it’s production facilities today.
Safa is a family run business, which has from the start, concentrated on the production of socks. Quality and prompt delivery are the company’s trademark.

Safa has a modern production facility for the manufacture of most types of socks. It is the largest manufacturer in Norway and one of the largest in Scandinavia. It’s production facilities includes computer controlled knitting machines, as well as automated sewing machines. The company has it’s own dye house, with possibilities for fast deliveries of special orders. Safa also has it’s own power plant which supplies electricity to the production facilities.

As mentioned earlier, the company’s production includes most types of socks for children, women and men. In the last few years, the company has been trying to expand it’s market share within the sports and leisure sector. In the Lillehammer Olympic Games the company had sole rights for the licenced manufacture of these products.

From June 1999 Safa became stockholder of the firm Skinija, situated in Kaunas in Lithuania. Skinija is reckoned to be the most progressive producer of different types of socks and pantyhoses in Lithuania, and has more than 100 employees. Safa and Skinija to day co-operate on the Scandinavian market.
